(December 19, 2017) MP Marilyn Gladu is pleased to announce the opening of the Canada Summer Jobs program. Funding From December 19th, 2017 until the closing date of February 2, 2018, applicants can submit proposals at the following link: www.canada.ca/canada-summer-jobs

Canada Summer Jobs provides funding to not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create summer job opportunities for young people aged 15 to 30 years who are full-time students intending to return to their studies in the next school year.


Background - Canada Summer Jobs 2018

Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is a key component of the Youth Employment Strategy, a horizontal Government of Canada initiative. CSJ helps employers create summer job opportunities for students in their communities. It is designed to focus on local priorities, while achieving tangible results for both students and their communities. 

The program provides funding for not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create summer job opportunities for students aged 15 to 30.

December 19, 2017 to February 2, 2018 Application period
February - March 2018 Assessment of applications by Service Canada
March 2018 Validation of lists by MPs
April 2018 Notification of applicants begins
April 23, 2018 Earliest start date for students
