MP Marilyn Gladu to host Sarnia Lambton Small Business Town Hall - Public meeting being held on Oct. 12 to hear concerns about Liberal tax changes
Sarnia Lambton Small Business Town Hall
Hosted by Marilyn Gladu, MP
Thursday, October 12 from 6:30 – 8 p.m.
@ Lambton College’s Event Centre
As many across our community are aware, small businesses are very concerned with tax measures being proposed by the Federal Government. Issues that have been raised with me include: that the consultation period was too short; not enough attention is being shown by the Government to the concerns raised by the small business community; and, that the Government may move to enact these tax measures by as early as the “fall economic update”.
Due to the overwhelming number of concerns brought forward by constituents, I am pleased to invite all concerned members of our Community to a specially-organized “Sarnia Lambton Small Business Town Hall”, on Thursday, October 12 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at Lambton College’s Event Centre (1485 London Road, Sarnia) to discuss this issue from the perspectives of those who have raised concerns such as Small Business operators, Entrepreneurs, Farmers, Physicians and Accounting & tax specialists.
The following experts will be speaking as panelists and sharing their own unique concerns:
Shirley de Silva, President, Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce
Bruce Hein, President & CEO of Express Employment Professionals
Rita Felder, CEO of FFM Ltd. (Field Farms Marketing Limited)
Dr. John Butler, Local Physician appearing as an individual
Jaclyn Cairns, Manager, Tax - BDO Canada LLP
If you are concerned about the planned small business tax changes, please come out to the Sarnia Lambton Small Business Town Hall, on Thursday October 12.
